Features
Access and passwords
- ID and one-time password. Each install has a 9-digit ID. The one-time password uses easy-to-read characters (no
0/o,1/l) and is 6 characters by default; you can choose 6 to 16 in Settings → Security and regenerate it at any time with the refresh button. - Permanent password for unattended access, at least 8 characters. Both passwords work at the same time.
- Ask before connecting. Even with the right password, the host can require the local user to click Allow. Unanswered prompts are denied after 30 seconds.
- Brute-force lockout. After 5 wrong passwords within a minute, the host rejects new attempts until the minute is over.
- Allow incoming connections switch on the Home page turns hosting off entirely.
While someone is connected to you
The Home page lists everyone connected, with their name, address, route and session time. For each one you can, live:
| Control | Effect |
|---|---|
| Pointer toggle | Allow or block mouse and keyboard control (blocked = view only) |
| Clipboard toggle | Allow or block clipboard sync |
| Folder toggle | Allow or block receiving files from them |
| Chat | Open a chat window with them |
| Send files | Send files to them |
| Disconnect | End their session immediately |
Screen
- Multiple monitors: the viewer can switch between the host's displays.
- Quality modes, switchable during a session:
| Mode | Encoding | Max frame rate |
|---|---|---|
| Optimize speed | JPEG, quality 45 | 30 fps |
| Balanced (default) | JPEG, quality 75 | 30 fps |
| Best quality | Lossless (LZ4) | 20 fps |
- Fit to window or actual size with scrolling.
- The host's mouse pointer is drawn on the remote screen.
Control
- Mouse: all buttons, wheel, back and forward.
- Keyboard: typed text arrives as Unicode, so it works across keyboard layouts; shortcuts like Ctrl+C are sent as key presses.
- Keys menu for combinations your own OS would intercept: Windows/Super, Alt+Tab, Alt+F4, Ctrl+Shift+Esc, Print Screen, and Lock screen.
- View only mode, from either side.
Clipboard, files and chat
- Clipboard sync is two-way for text up to 1 MB. Whatever was already on your clipboard when the session starts isn't sent; only new copies are.
- File transfer works in both directions, with progress shown. Received files go to
Downloads/Remora; names are cleaned so a file can't be written outside that folder. File data is queued behind mouse and keyboard traffic, so large transfers don't make control feel sluggish. - Chat in both directions, with unread badges.
Organizing
- Contacts with names and notes, plus searchable cards.
- Recent sessions on the Home page, with one-click reconnect and a star to save to contacts.
- Multiple sessions at once, each with its own entry in the sidebar.
- Light and dark themes.
